Fish Population Management….our responsibility

Since the beginning of Man we were allocated the responsibility of looking after Nature and all that is part of it. Over time we have, for convenience’s sake, neglected this responsibility. We also interfered with the balance established in Nature for our own benefit through actions with unforeseen consequences.
As part of these actions were the introduction of fish species in our natural environment which are not indigenous to South Africa. The fish species which were introduced have two major impacts on our resources: firstly the depletion of food sources and the depletion of other fish species.
