At this year’s South African Fishing Tackle & Agent’s (SAFTAD) expo an amazing array of new recreational fishing equipment was on show. As the show is only for the trade with no public access, here are some products distributed by The Kingfisher that should be on the retail shelves now or shortly.


Poseidon Drone II Rod

Daiwa Saltist Elite Drone Rod

  • Distributed by The Kingfisher
  • 12’6ft 3-piece rod. 65-150lb braid.

Travel rod: 4-piece Grinder Elites

  • X45 has been developed to eliminate blank twist and increase power by reinforcing Bias Wrap Construction with a left/right 45-degree carbon weave.
  • V-Joint – Bias construction allows the ferrule to flex with the rod, eliminating the weak, rigid spot caused by ordinary ferrules. A multi-piece blank that matches the performance of one-piece blanks in flex, power and responsiveness.
