Major Bass Gauteng At Bronkies
At Bronkhorstspruit Dam on the weekend of 14-16 September 13 anglers, including 2 ladies and 1 junior, turned up for the monthly fish –off of Major Bass, Gauteng.
With the dam at 70% in clear water at around 15°C, no spawning fish were located, and no distinct pattern emerged with a variety of baits being fished. During the day it was quite warm but cooler in the evenings.
Thehan van Rooyen caught the biggest fish of the weekend at 2.8kg and was also the overall winner, with Wiehan de Swardt in second and Christiaan de Swardt third. Liandra Bäcker with her biggest bass of 1.660kg was fourth and also won the ladies division with Christiaan de Swardt in the junior division landing his biggest bass of 1.060kg.
