It is with regret that we at All Lion Enterprises note the untimely passing on Saturday, 14 November of noted freshwater fishery scientist  Professor Olaf Weyl of the National Research Foundation /Research Chair in Inland Fisheries and Freshwater Ecology and the South African Institute of Aquatic Biodiversity.

Olaf, as he always wished to be called, was always a willing and credible source of recreational fishing science and wise commentary and opinion regarding the many issues that have an impact on the recreational fishing sector, not only in South Africa but throughout Africa and abroad. A keen and accomplished angler, research scientist and teacher he was a most valued source of knowledge in our recreational angling publications. He leaves a lasting legacy and will be sorely missed. Our sincere condolences go out to Olaf’s family, friends and colleagues.
