The Camp Master sleeping bag range is categorised from 150 up to 300 model numbers. The numbers relate to the density of the filling, and is measured in g/m2. With the categorisation from lower to higher, the weight increases, but subsequently the temperature that it can withstand decreases. Thus, the higher the number, the colder weather it can withstand. The ‘E’ and the ‘C’ denotes the shape: E for ‘envelope’ as opposed to C for ‘cowl’.
Explorer 250E Sleeping Bag*

The Explorer 250E is the first one in the range that can be used for those winter outings when close to sub zeros are possible. The bag is really lightweight making packing and carrying it easy in the drawstring bag in which it is supplied. With the outer fabric consisting of 240T diamond & honeycomb ripstop, I felt comfortable using it outdoor on the rocks for those cold early evening sessions next to the Vaal River, where you must have a shield from the cold but also be ready for the bite as well.
The two-way, full-length zipper enables easy access and at 190x85cm it accommodates even taller individuals like me with ease. During the Gys Pitzer Winter Classic, I was a weighmaster and slept outside in really cold conditions. Although the rating only stipulates a comfort range from 5-10oC, it was bearable even at -6oC.
The bag performed well and I was comfortable in it, but when choosing one for my own needs, I would go for the ‘C’ model, as the cowl will cover my head when sleeping under the stars waiting for the reel to scream off.

Voyager 200E Sleeping Bag*

This sleeping bag is an excellent choice for budget-conscious campers embarking on their first trip, or for families looking to equip children, friends, and extended relatives with sleeping gear.
The Voyager 200E sleeping bag boasts a lightweight design and includes a convenient drawstring carry case, ensuring effortless packing and portability on most expeditions. It can even be handy on the boat!
The two-way full-length zipper enables easy ventilation for when you need fresh air, operating smoothly without snagging. With a length of 1,9 metres the sleeping bag accommodates even taller individuals like me (at 1,53m!) with ample room for movement.
However, I wouldn’t advise it for extremely cold nights like those we experienced at Vaal Dam, where temperatures dropped to -6°C! It’s perfect however for typical camping season outings in most months of the year during spring, summer and autumn, offering comfort in temperatures between 15°C down to a minimum of 10°C.
Whether camping, hiking, or even stargazing, I highly recommend this sleeping bag. Embrace your inner adventurer and enjoy comfort while outdoors!

Expedition 300C-slaapsak*

Riaan ‘Alleman’ Riekert en sy vrou, Anel het onlangs die absolute voorreg gehad om die Camp Master Expedition 300C-slaapsak in die veld te toets, en glo my, in die weersomstandighede wat die kwik tot minus ses grade laat daal het, was dit vir seker ‘n ware toets!
Die eerste opvallende kenmerk is dat die slaapsak maklik en kompak opvou en gemaklik in sy sakkie inpas. Wat die slaapsak nog soveel te meer perfek maak vir daardie koue wintersnagte is die kappiegedeelte – Anel se neus was al wat sigbaar was en verder was alles snoesig warm. Die slaapsak se materiaal is ook van so ‘n aard dat dit die ergste koue kon trotseer.
Met sy hengeluitstappies is spasie vir Alleman van kardinale belang, nie net vir die in- en uitpak om te vervoer nie, maar met ‘n slaapsak moet ek nie voel of ek daarin vasgevang is nie – ek hou net nie daarvan nie. Hierdie slaapsak het meer as genoeg beweegruimte om gemaklik daarin te kan draai van kant tot kant. Ek sal beslis met ‘n ope hart hierdie slaapsak aanbeveel vir elke hengelaar/buitelug-entoesias wat hou van kamp, en daarmee saam ook van ‘n nag se gemaklike slaap.
Moenie langer wag nie, gaan koop dit nou!
